Bashir Ahmed is the Vice President, Production & Development of Asante Gold Corporation.
Bashir is a Mining engineer with over 30years of experience in mine operations, planning, production and management.
His wealth of expertise gained him the position as mine manager at Obuasi, one of the world’s foremost underground gold mines, producing up to 1.8 million tonnes per year. In this capacity Mr Ahmed managed a workforce of over 1000, with an annual budget of USD1OOmillion. He worked as the Project Manager for the implementation of a Management Operating System on the Anglogold Ashanti Obuasi Mine in Ghana.
Over the years Mr Ahmed has been involved in underground mining environment which include; Operations, Planning, Design, Operations Management and Change Management Projects.
Bashir has encountered diverse mining conditions over the years exposing him to varied mining operational experiences in both Manual labour intensive and mechanized trackless operations.
He has a specialty in the implementation of strategy across mine operations and lately has been involved in consulting and support for quarries and mines to streamline their operations to achieve profitability and sustainability.
