Ing. (Mrs) Margaret Aniawu-Asumakah has over 15years’ experience in maintenance, production, plant improvement, commissioning, planning, Mining with a proven track record of achieving results with less supervision through hard work and commitment and always willing to take on any challenge to ensure her knowledge and skills as an engineer and manager is fully utilized.
Prior to her current role, Margaret worked as the Process Manager, Asante Gold Chirano Limited. She worked at AngloGold Ashanti Ghana Obuasi in various capacities including, Metallurgical Superintendent from September 2021 – July 2022, Water Treatment plant supervisor – October 2014 – December 2018, Senior Metallurgist from January 2011 to September 2014, Metallurgist from July 2008 – January 2011.
Over the years, Margaret has been involved in Simulation of plant figures for informed decision, Cost control of production consumables, such as reagents, within the processing budget to limit wasteful expenditure, Precipitated heavy metals including arsenic using Actiflow process to achieve 99.9% degradation, Commissioned 7200m3 of BIOX plant for sulphur oxidation, Ensures cost impacts in area of accountability are evaluated, approved and budget revised, Provide training and development to metallurgist and graduate trainees/NSP personnel, Ensure relevant Safety, Mining and other statutory Codes and Regulations
remain in full compliance, Participate with the General Manager to set production goals and policy for the mine and then direct the activities of the Process Plant staff to achieve those production goals. Set performance targets, and measures.
She has a BSc in Materials Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (2007) and Msc Engineering and management from Coventry University.
