Shirley Oteng-Seifah holds a BSc. in Civil Engineering (2009) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi – Ghana.
Shirley Oteng-Seifah is the Manager for Tailings Operations at AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine, she’s the first female managing the Tailings facility within the AGA group and in Ghana, the First female and only female manager on the mine.
Prior to her role, she was the Geotechnical Engineer /Tailings Engineer from 2012 – 2017 at Anglogold Ashanti – Obuasi Mine, a Quality Control Engineer in 2016 at AngloGold Ashanti Siguiri Mine in Guinea, and a Site Engineer from 2011 – 2012 at Noble Gold Mining Limited – Bibiani Ghana.
She has over 9 years of working experience in mining and Civil engineering construction and has worked in various technical and leadership roles in the industry.
She has been involved in the management of mine waste (Tailings), design and implementation of remedial measures to improve stability of tailings storage facilities onsite.
Shirley is a member of the Ghana Institute of Engineers, Ghana Geotechnical Society, the West African Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum and professionally certified by the Minerals Commission of Ghana, ICM Project Management in 2011.
Shirley is very passionate about her work as an engineer and hold integrity, dedication and hard work as her core values. She is a strong advocate for gender equality and believes that given equal opportunity, there would be high representation of women in engineering and mining industry.
